AAU Membership and Insurance

All players and coaches are required to be AAU members to participate in any AAU tournament or practice. AVBA program is insured through the AAU which provides accident insurance and general liability insurance for all AAU events and practices. AVBA requires the player and coaches to have the "Added Benefit" membership which provides this insurance. If you already have an AAU membership card for another sport, make sure you have the “added benefit” membership because AAU requires all team members to have insurance before AAU will cover our club. You can look at the front of your card and it will state if you have the “added benefit” option. If your AAU card does not have the “added benefit” option, you must purchase a new card. AAU does not let you add it to your old card.

AAU Membership fees:

Player: $12      Added Benefit $2     Total $14
Coach: $14       Added Benefit $2     Total $16

Membership year is from September 1, 2007 to August 31, 2008 and is good for any AAU sport. If the player already has a valid card, give that to the coach. Each coach will keep all of the players AAU cards in a team notebook for check-in at tournaments.  You can get an AAU membership card by going to the National AAU web site.   www.aausports.org

Go to the National AAU web site to sign up players for AAU membership.  All players and coaches need to choose the “added benefit” option so the cost will be $14 for kids and $16 for coaches.  The Club Name is AVBA Volleyball and the Club Code is IAVB335KB9.  Print two copies of your new AAU membership.  Keep one copy for yourself and give the other copy to your coach.
